Sukhavati retreat is an exclusive six-villa property located in Bebengan, a timeless Balinese village on the banks of the Penet River. Designed to accommodate up to fourteen guests and staffed by twenty young Balinese men and women, the retreat's ethos is one of health, relaxation and well-being. Facilities include three salt-water swimming pools, a dining and entertainment pavilion, a health and beauty spa, and an open - air yoga and meditation bale.

The Villas

Sukhavati Retreat's thirteen individual buildings cover more than a hectare of land, spanning tree separate topographical levels. There are six villas in total (2 Luxury, 3 deluxe and 1 standard) all of which have been built to the highest standards in distinctively Balinese style, with marble floors and traditional thatched roofs.

All have been luxurious furnished and contain air-conditioners, hot and cold water systems, flat screen TV's, DVD's, CD Players and room safes standard. All villas also feature private "breakfast balcony" areas with soothing views of the virgin jungle surrounding the property

Amitabha

Located on an elevated position high on Sukhavati's uppermost level, Amitabha is a luxury villa boasting beautiful panoramic views of the entire property. On clear mornings guests may take breakfast by their own private relaxation gazebo under the watchful gaze of Mount Batukaru in Bali's northwest. Amitabha also contains a private salt-water cool pool and tanning deck.

Maitreya

Located on Sukhavati's lower level by the Penet River, this very private luxury villa is surrounded by jungle and towering Taap trees and lies within one of the property's highest energy points. Maitreya also contains a private open-air lounging area, salt-water cool pool and relaxing tanning deck.

White Tara

Located next to Sukhavati Retreat's yoga and meditation bale, White Tara is a deluxe villa backing onto the retreat's main rock cliff face. Guests in this villa will enjoy a massage in the total privacy of their own outdoor bathroom or indulge in a delicious breakfast on a private balcony overlooking gardens and pristine jungle.

Vajrapani

Centrally located directly behind the retreat's main salt-water swimming pool, Vajrapani is a deluxe villa situated on a slightly elevated position backing onto the property's main rock cliff face. Like White Tara and Samantabhadra, this villa boasts a uniquely landscaped private outdoor bathroom.

Samantabhadra

Villa Samantabhadra is a deluxe villa located next to Vajrapani and directly behind Manjushri on Sukhavati Retreat's middle level. Like those two villas, it boasts a large outdoor bathroom with a shower built into the property's main rock cliff face. A statue of a water-carrying Balinese maiden - hand carved into the cliff - offers the soothing sounds of running water to guests in this villa.

Manjushri

Manjushri is a slightly smaller standard villa located directly next to the retreat's main swimming pool. It boasts beautiful views of the virgin jungle across the Penet River. Guests staying in Manjushri will also find outdoor relaxation space just meters away at Sukhavati's main bale next to the pavilion. Manjushri's indoor bathroom is both luxurious and well appointed.

Spa

With health and beauty treatments dating back centuries, Bali is recognized the world over as the spiritual home of spa and massage services.

In partnership with Manori Spa, Sukhavati Retreat offers guests a range of exotic treatments by professionally trained staff. Whether for the body or the face, feet or hands, all treatment programs provide a therapeutic, relaxing and rejuvenating experience, stimulating the body's recuperative power and enhancing the healing effects of your holiday.

Manori Spa uses only natural products to enhance well being and reduce stress while offering retreat guests a choice of aromatic massage fragrances and flower oils, including relaxing lavender, invigorating lemon and orange, and soothing ylang ylang.

Dining

Dining is an essential part of the Sukhavati Retreat experience. With this in mind, 'Pak' Eka (who is also the retreat's general manager) has created a system of delicious and very reasonably priced set menus for guests to enjoy.

Sukhavati Retreat's cuisine takes in the regional flavors of Bali and Java, as well as a number of sumptuous East-West "fusion" dishes that Pak Eka has specially trained our kitchen staff to prepare.

Importantly, all set menus and buffets offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian alternatives, and are prepared using only the freshest and most wholesome ingredients.

Staff

Sukhavati Retreat's staff of twenty young Balinese men and women have been carefully selected to take care of your every need during your stay. Their various services include cooking, cleaning, driving, gardening and night-time security.

Several skilled massage and spa therapists will also be on hand to provide a range of health and beauty treatments throughout your stay.

All staff members will be at the retreat from the time you wake up for your morning tea until the time you retire to your villas at night. Their beautiful smiles and graceful ways will linger in your memory long after you have departed for home.
